Top prediction markets in 2026

The top prediction markets in 2026 are Kalshi (#1, US cash), Polymarket (#2, global crypto) and Predict Fun (#3, BNB event book). Sports, no-KYC and forecasting options follow — not one winner for every country.

Top prediction markets ranked by access, KYC, fees and the type of market you actually want — US cash contracts, global crypto boards, or forecasting without a cash trade.

Top 10 ranking

Top prediction markets to compare first.

Use this list when you want the strongest overall prediction-market shortlist before comparing region and KYC details.

What are the top prediction markets?

The English query “top prediction markets” splits three ways: US-regulated cash apps, global crypto event boards, and play-money forecasting. This page is the canonical GammaPredict ranking for that query. It is an editorial comparison of access, liquidity signals, KYC friction, fees, UX and transparency — not a promise that every platform is available to every reader.

Crypto-native event discovery

Polymarket is the benchmark to research for public-event depth where its product is allowed. Check regional terms, wallet risk and the individual market rules.

US regulated route

Kalshi and ForecastEx are the CFTC-facing research routes for eligible US users; a crypto wallet is not a substitute for their account checks.

Read how Gamma Score works, then compare fees and spreads plus liquidity signals and access rules before following any outbound link. Access and settlement rules change; this is not financial, legal or tax advice.

DefiLlama ranking, then our read

We pulled the live DefiLlama prediction-market category on 9 September 2026 via their public /protocols API. They sort 121 listed protocols by on-chain TVL. Category TVL that day was $421.0M. 78 names reported a number; the rest, including Kalshi and Polymarket US, sit in the category with no TVL figure — they are not DeFi pools.

#DefiLlama nameTVL7dChainsOur read
1Polymarket International$356.5M+5.6%PolygonSame product as our Polymarket review. 84.7% of category TVL. This is the only on-chain book that looks like a real market.
2Rain$28.5M−6.9%ArbitrumSecond on Llama. Now a watchlist row — not a flagship, not a Kalshi or Polymarket substitute. Week was down.
3Predict Fun$10.9M+5.7%BNB, BlastThird on TVL. Editorial #3 — BNB event book, not a CFTC cash venue. Llama’s category page can show them around #4 because Kalshi sits first with no TVL.
4PredictStreet$4.4M+9.4%ADIWatchlist. Gibraltar licence claim on their about page is not a CFTC DCM.
5OPINION$3.5M−1.5%BNBWatchlist. This desk hit a region wall on the live app.
6Sport.fun$2.7M−1.6%BaseWatchlist. Sports-flavoured protocol — not an Azuro or SX Bet review.
7Gnosis Protocol v1$2.5M+2.3%EthereumLegacy lockup. Related to the Gnosis stack, not a live consumer board.
8Augur$2.0M+3.9%EthereumMore TVL than Azuro. That is leftover capital, not a 2026 order book.
9Liquidity House$1.19M−3.7%EtherlinkWatchlist. Public homepage is operator bankroll, not a retail Yes/No board.
10Azuro$1.19M−15.6%Polygon, Base, Linea, Arbitrum#4 on our editorial list, #10 on Llama. Sports protocol liquidity is real and still ~300× smaller than Polymarket. The week was a sharp drop.

What the numbers actually say

  • One venue is the market. Polymarket International is 84.7% of reported category TVL. The next nine names together are about 13.5%. The other 111 listings are dust or unreported.
  • TVL is not “best app.” Rain still outranks Azuro on locked capital and stays watchlist. Predict Fun is editorial #3 as the BNB event book. High TVL is a research flag, not a deposit instruction.
  • Kalshi is invisible here for a reason. Llama lists Kalshi and Polymarket US with no TVL. Cash CFTC venues do not lock USDC in a pool the way Polygon Polymarket does. If you only sort this table, you erase the usual US starting point.
  • Our #3 is Predict Fun, a BNB event book — not Azuro and not Kalshi. Azuro stays the sports-protocol pick (#4 editorial, #10 on Llama). Predict Fun’s TVL is why it sits in the top three; a CFTC cash user still starts at Kalshi.
  • Legacy and infra TVL lies. Augur still shows $2.0M of old Ethereum lockup. Liquidity House’s homepage is operator bankroll, not a retail board. Neither beats Azuro as a 2026 product.
  • Contract liquidity still wins. Category TVL does not tell you the spread on the event you want. Use the liquidity guide on the specific market.

So: take Llama’s order for on-chain capital. Keep the Gamma Score list below for access, KYC and product type. A US cash user still starts at Kalshi (#1). A global crypto-event reader still starts at Polymarket (#2). Predict Fun is #3 as the BNB event book with visible TVL — not a Kalshi licence. Rain and OPINION stay watchlist: do not open them just because Llama ranks them by locked capital.

US apps that also show up for this search

English results for “top prediction markets” in 2026 often lead with US consumer apps. Kalshi and Polymarket are in the ranked list below. These other names appear in the same conversation but do not yet have a GammaPredict flagship review, so they are not scored here:

  • OG (Crypto.com) — CFTC-facing sports-first app in many US roundups.
  • Novig — peer-to-peer sports contracts, often listed next to Kalshi.
  • ProphetX — parlay-style event contracts in US sports coverage.
  • FanDuel Predicts, DraftKings Predictions, Robinhood — sportsbook or brokerage prediction products; check state access separately.

If you are in the United States, start with the USA ranking and the access tracker before any outbound link.

Pros

  • Clear shortlist with rating, KYC, crypto support and best-fit category.
  • Includes regulated, crypto-native, decentralized and community options.
  • Each platform links to a full profile and compare flow.

Cons

  • Availability can change by jurisdiction and platform policy.
  • Liquidity varies by individual market, not only by platform.
  • GammaPredict is an editorial guide, not financial or legal advice.

How to pick a top prediction market

Start with jurisdiction, then product type, then liquidity. A US resident who wants cash event contracts should research Kalshi before a crypto wallet. A reader outside the US who wants a deep public-event board should research Polymarket where its terms allow access. Sports-first crypto users compare Azuro and SX Bet. Forecasting without a cash trade belongs on Manifold or Metaculus — those are not substitutes for Kalshi.

Then open two reviews and the compare tool. Check KYC, funding rails, resolution rules and whether you can exit the book. The USA ranking, fees comparison and access tracker exist so this page does not pretend one table is enough.

Who should use this list

Use this list when you want the strongest overall prediction-market shortlist before comparing region and KYC details. Compare at least two options before choosing, and prioritize platforms that match your country, payment method and market category.

FAQ

What are the top prediction markets in 2026?

There is no single venue for every reader. Kalshi is #1 for eligible US cash contracts. Polymarket is #2 for global crypto event boards where it is allowed. Predict Fun is #3 as the BNB-native event book. ForecastEx is another US event-contract route. Manifold, Metaculus and Good Judgment Open are forecasting products, not cash-contract substitutes.

What is the top prediction market in the US?

For eligible US residents who want cash event contracts, Kalshi is the cleanest CFTC-regulated starting point on this list. Polymarket’s US availability is a separate product and geo-policy question — use the USA ranking and the access tracker, not a global screenshot.

Kalshi vs Polymarket: which is better?

Kalshi is built for US-regulated dollar contracts and KYC onboarding. Polymarket is the deeper global crypto event board where its terms allow access. Compare them on Polymarket vs Kalshi rather than picking a universal winner.

Are prediction markets legal?

Access depends on country, state, product and account type. A CFTC designated contract market is not a UK gambling licence, and a crypto wallet is not a substitute for either. Read Is Polymarket legal? and the regulation tracker before funding an account.

How does GammaPredict rank the top prediction markets?

Gamma Score combines editorial signals for liquidity, market variety, region access, KYC friction, fees, UX and transparency. It is not a performance forecast. See how we score on the Trust page.

Is this the same as a TVL or volume ranking?

No. We publish a dated DefiLlama TVL snapshot above so you can see on-chain capital. That sort puts Polymarket International first and hides Kalshi. The numbered list below is Gamma Score plus editorial fit: Kalshi, Polymarket, then Predict Fun. TVL is one liquidity input. Llama still hides Kalshi because cash CFTC venues do not lock USDC.
