Polymarket is GammaPredict’s crypto-native benchmark for prediction markets. It behaves like an event exchange: you buy Yes or No shares, the mid-price is a crowd-implied probability, and other traders are usually your counterparty. It is not a sportsbook parlay lobby and it is not a CFTC designated contract market.
This review is editorial research of the public product — interface, access, fees, funding and how a trade is placed. GammaPredict does not operate Polymarket, does not hold user funds, and does not claim a funded live-test of every listing in the directory.
Guest browsing of the board is the honest free layer. Taking size needs a positive USDC balance on the network the deposit screen names. If your region is blocked, stop and use a listed alternative such as Kalshi rather than a grey-market mirror.

Interface
The homepage is a ranked board of live events: search, topic chips (Politics, Sports, Crypto, Pop culture) and a volume sort. Each tile shows the question, implied Yes %, 24h volume and a thumbnail. Open a tile and the market page splits into resolution rules, a price chart, a Yes/No ticket, related markets and comments.
Connect Wallet sits in the header. Theme and density are built for scanning headlines, not for a casino carousel. Learn the ticket once; every other Polymarket market uses the same control.
Markets
Contracts cluster around four research uses:
- Politics and elections — nominations, seats, policy votes. Read the office, date and resolution source, not a social-media summary.
- Crypto — ETF, price-threshold and protocol milestones. Wording is the whole trade.
- Sports — match and tournament markets that compete with crypto sports venues on speed, not on parlays.
- Culture and macro — awards, data prints, Fed-day questions. Liquidity falls off the homepage fast.
A 12% Yes on a thin book is not a 12% fill. If you cannot exit, you do not have a trade.
Access, KYC and region
Onboarding is wallet-first and region-dependent. MetaMask, WalletConnect and similar Polygon-capable wallets are the usual path. That is not “anonymous forever”: partners, thresholds and geo rules can still request checks. If a verification prompt appears, complete it on the official domain or leave.
US persons should treat Polymarket as restricted unless the live site explicitly allows the product. Do not document a VPN workaround here — eligibility is part of the product. Kalshi and PredictIt exist for CFTC-facing research.
- Open the official site and confirm your region is allowed. If blocked, stop.
- Connect a wallet that supports the chain shown on the deposit screen.
- Approve the connection. The address is the account.

How to place a trade
A trade is a limit or market ticket on an outcome share, not a bet-slip accumulator.
- Open the market. Read title, end date, resolution source and edge cases before the price.
- Check spread, depth and recent volume.
- Choose Yes or No, size in USDC, confirm.
- Track the position in the portfolio. Selling before resolution only works if the book is alive.
Fees, rails and funding
Costs are network fees, spread and any venue fee the live ticket shows. There is no casino match bonus and no wagering meter. Confirm the deposit asset and chain on the official screen — it can change. Wrong network is the expensive mistake.

Risks and limits
Main failure modes: geo-block after you already funded, thin books, ambiguous resolution text, phishing “support” chats, and treating Polymarket as a US-licensed exchange. Read the market rules before a ticket. Most “why did this resolve No?” threads are wording, not a broken engine.
